Madison County, Ohio. Named after James Madison, the 4th President of the United States, Madison County was established on March 1st, 1810. Holding a land mass of 467 square miles, Madison County is proud to the home to over 40,200 residents. The county is located in central Ohio between Columbus and Springfield.

Primarily an agricultural area, 88% of the land consists of farms. According to statistics, Madison County ranks second in soybean production and third in corn production throughout the state of Ohio. Annually in September the Ohio State University hosts the Farm Science Review, one of the largest farm exhibitions in the world.

Madison County has many Attractions whether you live here or plan to just visit, these things are sure to draw you back for more. Included are the Madison Lake State Park, just one of the scenic attractions in Madison County. There are many others available, along with many programs set up by the area parks and recreation departments. Other points of interest in Madison County could include the Red Brick Tavern, the Jonathon Alder Cabin, and Big Darby Creek, a State and National Scenic River.

A person of worship would be happy to know there are also many area churches, no matter what denomination that you choose to follow. The county seat of Madison County is London, which is one of the biggest and most productive cities in the county.
