Sunbury, Ohio. Sunbury, Ohio is nestled in the heart of Delaware County just a mere 18 miles from the Ohio state capital. Though not one of the biggest Ohio cities, the village does have over 2,000 residents and they continue to grow every year.
The Village of Sunbury was laid out in Berkshire Township in 1816 by Pennsylvania brothers, William and Lawrence Myers. They probably named the village for Sunbury Township in Pennsylvania where their brother was sheriff.
There is plenty to do in and around Sunbury for any individual or family alike. The village has many outdoor and cultural activities, sure to please everyone and make many happy memories for years to come.
