New Lexington, Ohio. Located in Southeastern Ohio, in Perry County, New Lexington is on lush, rolling land. The sloping hills and valleys make it one of the more picturesque areas in Ohio.
The Indians, known only as the Mound Builders, lived in this area. They proliferated though they left no record of their existence save for the 100 or so mounds found in Perry County, several found in the vicinity of New Lexington.
It wasn’t until after 1817 that New Lexington and other settlements started to crop up in Perry County.
