Bellfontaine, Ohio. The Shawnee Nation dominated the area now known as Bellefontaine, during the 1760’s and 1770’s, and built the village of Blue Jacket’s Town. Eventually it became known as Bellefontaine as it is now. Today, Bellefontaine is in the center of Honda of America’s Ohio operations and home to several Honda suppliers.

Bellefontaine is known for having the first concrete street in America built in 1801, and the shortest street in America, McKinley Street, which is about 20 feet long. There is always something going on in the Bellefontaine area, no matter if it is sponsored by the area school district, the parks and recreation department, or the cultural arts council.
