Clark County, Ohio. Clark County, Ohio was named in honor of General George Rogers Clark, during the area Indian wars. Located about 45 miles west of Columbus, Clark County is a productive area drained by the Mad and Little Miami rivers.

Springfield is the county seat and the largest city in the county, housing 200 diverse industries. The Clark County Technical Institute which opened in 1967, the first of its kind in Ohio is part of the county and still runs is an active part of the county. Springfield is also home to the prestigious private school, Wittenberg University as well as Clark State Community College.

There are numerous things to in and around Clark County. The county is filled with historic resources for those that love history, including a historical society and the county library that has various branches and always offers something to do. The Fairgrounds are open with various fairs throughout the summer, as are many of other outdoor activities, including camping, biking, and picnics around the area lakes.
